DESIGN PHILOSOPHY
In making our apps, we often like to exemplify an ideology of 'modest innovation'. In other words, we like to innovate, but only in a calculated and reasonable way. Most of my apps use some kind of AI, but not in a way that completely controls the functionality of the app. We don't like to try to reinvent the wheel with every app, but I try to use AI where it can be used to make the wheel better. In the spirit of that idea, we created an app for species identification that focuses on the quality of predictions above all else. A neural net tries to guess what a plant, fungus or animal is, but you have to use your human brain to do some of the work. When the app shows its predictions, unlike other apps, it tells you how confident it is about every prediction. Furthermore, it is connected to the Wikipedia API and gives you information about each species that your picture might contain, and you need to do a little bit of the detective work.

Now, the map will form geographic clusters, allowing you to review pictures that were taken in close proximity. 1.9 08/14/2024 A life list was added to show all of the species that the user has found, as well as medals for how often they have been found. 1.8 08/08/2024 A new button appears if the user attempts to open the camera while the app does not have camera access, leading the user to settings.

Also, several 'under the hood' changes to make the app transitions a little bit smoother 1.7 07/31/2024 Naturify will now become the online version of the app (instead of Naturify Lite). Naturify will now require internet connection to use, however it will be generally faster, and new features will be continually added to it and developed. If you wish to continue only using Naturify while not connected to the internet, download Naturify Lite. 1.6 07/22/2024 Removed Google ads, and new UI updates 1.5 06/18/2024 Various UI features have been improved, including the image gallery. The camera feature has been restored, allowing you to take pictures in the app with a high level of clarity. 1.4 05/21/2024 The latest version has an improved user interface, allowing for images to be cropped more optimally before being processed. Overall, this makes the app more usable, and improves the quality of its classification results. 1.2 05/15/2024 Improved user interface features, fixed problems with camera usage, and added location browsing. 1.1 05/01/2023 1.0 04/27/2023
